Celebrities Who Look Like Younger Versions Of Other Stars

When young stars first venture out on their career paths, they probably aspire to become recognizable celebrities in their own right. However, as these familiar faces have found, the new kids on the block can wind up being compared to other famous folks who have come before them. And judging by the following examples, it’s not hard to see why that would happen! These celebrity lookalikes are uncanny.

Jeremy Allen White and Gene Wilder

One half of this almost indistinguishable pair is an actor currently known for cooking up a storm in Hulu's The Bear, while the other was a Hollywood legend who tore up the stage and screen, leaving fans in fits of laughter in hits like Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles. Talent aside, The internet is getting all stirred up about just how similar these two actors look.

But can you tell the difference? Pictured here with only ten years between them, it's hard! With their matching curly locks and piercing blue eyes, we know whose phone will be ringing if there's ever a biopic about the first guy to play Willy Wonka!

Margot Robbie and Jaime Pressly

If it weren’t for the fact that My Name is Earl star Jaime Pressly is 13 years older than I, Tonya actress Margot Robbie, the pair could have been twins. The hair, the eyes, the face shape — their similarities are bordering on creepy!

Their matchy-matchy looks have even resulted in a number of articles being forced to answer the question, "Are Margot Robbie and Jaime Pressly the same person?" At this point, we're really not sure anymore!

Justin Bieber and Paul Wesley

The resemblance between former teen idol Justin Bieber and The Vampire Diaries’ Paul Wesley is uncanny. Though they’re separated by 12 years in age, the pair posess very similar-looking sculpted jawlines, shapely eyebrows, and brooding glares. And Wesley himself even appeared to acknowledge his likeness to Bieber back in 2013.

Photos posted on Instagram looked suspiciously like Wesley was dressed up as the pop star alongside co-star Nina Dobrev for Halloween. Admittedly, the costume consisted of only a grey beanie, but that was enough, given that they could be twins!

Jessica Biel and Christy Turlington

With their bright, wide smiles, striking green eyes, and button noses, The Sinner actress Jessica Biel and supermodel Christy Turlington look like they could genuinely be related. Turlington is the middle daughter of three sisters, so what's one more?!

And with their 14-year age difference, the two could perhaps play on-screen sisters. In fact, given just how similar the pair appear, they could probably even pass as twins.

Sebastian Stan and Mark Hamill

Sebastian Stan entered the world of sci-fi with his 2011 appearance in Captain America: The First Avenger. It just so happens, though, that his celebrity doppelgänger had already been a star of the genre for over three decades.

Yes, with his wide blue eyes and slightly downturned mouth, Stan is a dead ringer for a young Mark Hamill, who’s more than 30 years the other man’s senior.

Olivia Cooke and Winona Ryder

Thanks to her big brown eyes and creamy complexion, Ready Player One actress Olivia Cooke looks just like a young Winona Ryder. And not only do the pair share a physical likeness, but both women also started their careers at early ages.

Ryder was just 16 years old when she appeared in Beetlejuice and Heathers, you see, while Cooke was 18 when she landed her debut film role in The Quiet Ones.

Liam Hemsworth and Jeff Bridges

Long before Liam Hemsworth became a heartthrob in The Hunger Games, Jeff Bridges had already set pulses racing in a number of Hollywood classics. The pair don’t only have dashing good looks in common, though; they also basically share the same face. Despite the four-decade age gap, both boast dreamy blue eyes and the ability to carry an impressive amount of facial hair with style.

And though both Hollywood heartthrobs have pursued careers in acting, they've never worked together. Chris Hemsworth, on the other hand, starred alongside Bridges in 2018's Bad Times at the El Royale. The production team probably wanted to avoid any on-set confusion!

Jennifer Lawrence and Renee Zellweger

Not only do Jennifer Lawrence and Renee Zellweger each possess Oscars, BAFTAs, and Golden Globes, but they also share an undeniable resemblance to each other. Beyond their looks, it seems that both stars hold the other in high esteem. In an early interview, Lawrence confessed that there was one of Zellweger's most iconic characters that she'd have liked all for herself.

"I have always wanted to play Bridget Jones. I want the movies to not exist so that I can do that," the then-budding star gushed. Equally, Business Standard shared sources close to Zellweger, who claimed that she is "obsessed" with the younger actress' career path.

Brad Pitt and Robert Redford

Robert Redford was Brad Pitt’s hero growing up. When Pitt broke into the acting business and actually got to meet him, he was thrilled. Pitt even learned his “Redfordisms” when they worked together in 1992 when Redford directed, and Pitt acted in A River Runs Through It. So he must have been delighted when he got older and discovered he was starting to look exactly like his idol!

As both stars have aged, their similarities have only grown more intense. From the days of being blond-haired, blue-eyed new kids' on the block, the two actors have matured, securing their places amongst Hollywood's hunkiest elite.

Bradley Cooper and Ralph Fiennes

If anyone had tried to tell us that Bradley Cooper was the spitting image of the Harry Potter franchise's number one bad guy, Voldemort, then, frankly, we'd have been worried about their eyesight.

But it turns out that, underneath all that makeup, British star Ralph Fiennes has more than a passing likeness to the A Star Is Born actor. Cooper may be more than a decade Fiennes’ junior, but they could pass as brothers.

Daisy Ridley and Keira Knightley

With their brown eyes and brunette locks, British beauties Daisy Ridley and Keira Knightley could seriously be sisters. It seems that Star Wars star Ridley doesn’t agree, though. And unfortunately, the constant comparison has been a real sore spot for Ridley, who is seven years younger than Knightley.

You see, when asked in 2015 about the comparisons between her and Knightley, she told the Daily Mail, “People have always said that I look like [Keira Knightley]. But it is actually really frustrating.” It may be frustrating, but the resemblance is hard to ignore.

Dacre Montgomery and Robert Downey Jr.

Stranger Things actor Dacre Montgomery caused a stir when he starred in the sci-fi hit's second series. Fans were quick to claim he was a dead ringer for Zac Efron. Other factions, however, were linking him to a famous doppelgänger with even more acting experience beneath his belt.

In certain corners of the internet, Montgomery’s resemblance to a young Robert Downey Jr. has been discussed at length. And it’s not hard to see why! Both stars boast strong jawlines and mysterious eyes that can perfectly execute a dreamy, far-away gaze.

Millie Bobby Brown and Natalie Portman

If it wasn’t for the 23-year age gap, you’d be forgiven for thinking that Stranger Things’ Millie Bobby Brown was the long-lost twin of a young Natalie Portman. Their careers haven't been too far removed, either. Portman entered the world of showbiz when she was 14, while Bobby Brown made her break at age 11.

The likeness between them is so strong, even, that some fans have been long hoping that the pair might star together as mother and daughter one day. Watch this space!

Clark Gable and George Clooney

Clark Gable was the archetypal handsome leading man, the “King of Hollywood” who was legendary for his passionate romances and his acting talents. Starting to sound like anyone we know?

Yep, you guessed it, we're talking about George Clooney, who now wears the crown Gable once owned. And not only do they look alike, they also share initials, albeit reversed — CG and GC!

Sophia Lillis and Amy Adams

Sophia Lillis bears such a resemblance to Amy Adams, with their matching their ginger hair and pale blue eyes, that the pair play child and adult versions of the same character in the HBO mini-series Sharp Objects

However, when it comes to looking like the youngster, Adams has competition. You see, fellow redhead Jessica Chastain notably portrayed Lillis’ grown-up character in the sequel to It.

Ian Somerhalder and Rob Lowe

Despite a 14-year age gap, Ian Somerhalder and Rob Lowe seem as though they could have been separated at birth. And their almost identical faces have not gone unnoticed by the men themselves. Somerhalder revealed in an interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show that Lowe once took matters into his own hands, literally!

According to the Vampire Diaries' star, Lowe approached him and his wife at an awards show. He took Nikki Reed's — Somerhalder's wife — face into his hands and uttered the words, "This is what you're going to be looking at in 15 years." The stunt apparently went down well, mainly because of Lowe's icy blue eyes and dashing good looks!

Zoë Saldana and Thandie Newton

Zoë Saldana of Guardians of the Galaxy fame and Thandie Newton from Westworld are two of the acting world’s best-known doppelgängers. They look so similar, that even the Marvel star's mom gets mixed up.

In an interview with James Cordon, Saldana revealed how her own mother often mistakes the pair. "When are you going to understand that I'm not Thandie Newton?" she joked.

Alexandra Daddario and Tiffani Thiessen

Down in part to their light blue eyes and sleek brown manes, Alexandra Daddario and Tiffani Thiessen look strikingly similar. In fact, the resemblance between the two actresses is so clear that some fans are convinced they're related.

And although the two stars don’t actually share the same genes, they did appear together in the USA Network series White Collar that ran between 2009 and 2014. Must have been handy if either needed to take a sick day!

Henry Cavill and Matt Bomer

Matt Bomer and Henry Cavill look so alike that there’s even an online guide advising fans how to identify which actor is which. And while both men are tall, dark, and handsome, there are indeed some ways to tell them apart.

Firstly, Cavill is a Brit; Bomer, on the other hand, is American. Even with guidance, according to Cavill, he is still often approached by Bomer fans asking him to sign photos. His response? "I'll sign it, [...] but just so you know, that's Matt!"

Ella Purnell and Natascha McElhone

English actresses Ella Purnell and Natascha McElhone have more than their home country in common. Yes, thanks to their delicate bone structures and wide, round eyes, the pair could have been separated at birth — if it wasn’t for the near 30-year age difference between them, that is.

Purnell is has made a name for herself in titles such as Sweetbitter and Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, while McElhone is probably best known for her role in Californication or alongside Jim Carey in The Truman Show.

Christian Bale and James Brolin

By the time that Christian Bale was born in Wales in 1974, James Brolin was already a Hollywood star. However, that hasn’t stopped some fans from wondering if the pair could somehow be secretly related. The resemblance between the two stars is pretty remarkable!

And not to mention how they seem to possess the shared ability to pull off a goatee with ease! Still, despite the number of online threads discussing their possible familial ties, Bale and Brolin are probably, almost certainly not, a father-son duo in disguise!

Emma Stone and Jane Levy

Emma Stone and Jane Levy are only separated by one year, but it's more than just their similar ages that make them so similar. Sure, they're both actresses with a stunning head of red hair, but just look at their face shapes! They started out their acting careers similarly, too.

Stone was performing from a young age with the Valley Youth Theatre in Phoenix before persuading her parents to let her move to Los Angeles. Like two sides of the same coin, Levy, on the other hand, already lived in L.A. county. And you guessed it — she, too, performed in community productions.

Kendall Jenner and Ricky Martin

Supermodel Kendall Jenner and singer-turned-actor Ricky Martin may not seem like the most obvious of celebrity twins. However, when you compare images of a young Martin to the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, the likeness is clear to see.

The longer you look, in fact, it really is undeniable — they seem to share the exact same facial features! We're not sure how kindly the eldest Kardashian-Jenner child would be to learn that she could pass as a female Martin, but there we go. Sorry Kendall!

Lauren Cohan and Lio Tipton

Lauren Cohan rose to fame on horror TV series such as The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural. Meanwhile, Lio Tipton’s big break came on America’s Next Top Model before they moved into movies like their lookalike. Although Cohan and Tipton's respective resumes are quite different, they've both had to deal with the on-screen undead.

Tipton cozied up to Nicholas Hoult in the comedy romance Warm Bodies in 2013, while Cohan battled the zombies in The Walking Dead for a whopping 106 episodes. All, may we add, while looking practically the same!

Dylan Sprouse and Leonardo DiCaprio

Dylan Sprouse was born an identical twin in 1992. By the time the star had reached his mid-20s, however, he’d begun to look less like his famous brother, Cole, and instead more closely resembled a ’90s version of Leonardo DiCaprio.

Yes, with his floppy blond hair and boyish charm, Sprouse could easily be cast as the new Jack if there were ever a remake of Titanic. But who would play Rose?

Paula Patton and Halle Berry

Paula Patton was dubbed “the next Halle Berry” following her success in the action movie Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol in 2011. The role came almost ten years after Berry herself starred in the Bond movie Die Another Day. And they weren't entirely wrong! Patton has gone from strength to strength in her career.

With movie-star action sequences and knowledge of how to wield a gun on screen firmly in place for both women, any casting director would be hard-pressed to choose between them. Hey, why not go for both — few people would notice if they switched mid-movie!

Justin Theroux and John Slattery

When you take turns glancing between photos of Mulholland Drive actor Justin Theroux and Mad Men star John Slattery, the resemblance between the pair isn’t as glaringly obvious as some other A-list doppelgängers. But there’s still something in their face shapes that makes them look alike.

More than their looks, though, both men are of slim build, while each seems to possess an air of urbanity that sets them apart from most of their contemporaries.

Leelee Sobieski and Helen Hunt

Leelee Sobieski has been acting since she was just a girl. And as she’s gotten older, she’s grown to look more and more like Helen Hunt of Twister fame. Certainly, both women have blonde hair, blue eyes, and a clear facial likeness.

One big difference, however, is that Hunt is almost exactly 20 years older than Sobieski. And funnily enough, that makes the pair Geminis — a star sign that’s sometimes referred to as “The Twins.”

Anne Hathaway and Julia Roberts

Throughout her career, Anne Hathaway has been constantly compared to Julia Roberts. And looking at the two, it’s not hard to see why! The actresses sport flowing brunette locks, dazzling grins, and an air of effortless elegance that has made both women firm favorites with their fans.

What’s more, according to reports, Roberts was, in fact, once approached to play Hathaway’s mom in a movie. But with only 15 years separating her and the younger actress, the Hollywood A-lister allegedly didn’t take very kindly to the idea.

Ariel Winter and Rachel Weisz

There’s something familiar about Modern Family’s Ariel Winter. As you can see, the raven-haired beauty looks exactly like a younger version of British actress Rachel Weisz. And beyond them sharing the same initials, there are some other similarities, too. Both Winter and Weisz have round hazel eyes that stand out against their alabaster complexions, and dark flowing hair.

The younger of the two has a way to go to catch up with Weisz's impressive filmography. Winter is almost 30 years younger, though, so she's still got plenty of time to match her lookalike's credit list as well as her looks.

Sarah Hyland and Mila Kunis

Sarah Hyland and Mila Kunis look so much alike that the pair are often mistaken for each other. Both actresses have strong brows, dark eyes, and a similar facial bone structure — even their noses appear the same.

Regardless of those matching physical traits, though, Kunis is actually seven years older than Hyland. In that respect, then, the comparison with the Modern Family star “makes [Kunis] feel young,” according to an InStyle article from 2014.

Amanda Bynes and Jennifer Aniston

Both Amanda Bynes and Jennifer Aniston began acting at early ages. However, while the Friends star would go on to become one of Hollywood’s highest-paid celebrities, in 2010 Bynes took a step back from show business due to personal issues.

If Bynes were ever to stage a comeback, though, the Easy A actress could definitely get away with playing Aniston’s daughter thanks to the strong resemblance between them.

Audrey Hepburn and Lily Collins

People have been saying for years that Lily Collins looks just like the famous beauty Audrey Hepburn, to the extent that Collins’ fans were furious when Lily missed out on playing her in a TV series.

Rooney Mara was cast instead, and one Twitter user wrote, “I don’t know if Rooney Mara is the right choice here. Lily Collins has more of an Audrey Hepburn essence.” We'll let you be the judge!

Eartha Kitt and Zendaya

In 2022 the magazine Vogue Italia wrote of Zendaya, “Her impact on pop culture is reminiscent of that of some icons of the past, such as Josephine Baker, Eartha Kitt, or Sade.”

And Zendaya’s physical resemblance to American singing and acting icon, Eartha Mae Kitt, cannot be overstated. Outside of their looks, musical talents and natural charisma connect both women.

Priscilla Presley and Lana Del Ray

Lana Del Ray looks a lot like Priscilla Presley — and she knows it. Apparently, she lobbied hard to be cast as Priscilla in the Baz Luhrmann biopic Elvis, and the real Priscilla even said she liked the idea.

But in the end, it didn’t happen for Lana. No doubt the snub must have stung even more the second time around when Cailee Spaeny was cast to play Priscilla in the 2023 re-telling of Mrs. Presley's life.

Lauren Bacall and Karlie Kloss

Lauren Bacall was one of the biggest sex symbols of 1940s Hollywood, and Karlie Kloss is one of the biggest sex symbols of well, right now. Match made in heaven, right?

Kloss clearly thinks so too, since she channeled one of Bacall’s most iconic looks for a Dior campaign in 2010. It was like seeing the real woman come back to life.

Fred Astaire and Vincent Cassel

Vincent Cassel’s father Jean-Pierre Cassel was also an actor, and such a good dancer he was often compared to Fred Astaire. Fast-forward several years and now Vincent is the one getting Astaire comparisons, and his style of dressing certainly helps.

Cassel told the Daily Mail in 2009, “My style icon is Fred Astaire. To me he is the epitome of class.” Well then, it must feel pretty good to know that you're the dead ringer for him then, hey?

Brigitte Bardot and Claudia Schiffer

Where do we begin? There are a lot of connections between Brigitte Bardot and Claudia Schiffer. They look very similar, of course, and both of them were sex symbols of their respective eras.

Schiffer was compared to Bardot in the early years of her modeling career. And the Teutonic goddess even owns a famous artwork depicting Bardot! It’s by Simon Claridge and is titled, “And God Created Woman.”

Errol Flynn and Lee Ryan

Here’s an unusual one — as well as looking like him, Lee Ryan is convinced he actually is Errol Flynn reincarnated. The Blue singer has even gone so far as to consult psychics about it.

Well, as you might expect, the evidence is somewhat inconclusive. However, there are some similarities in personality between the two. Flynn and Ryan are both known as notorious womanizers, for starters.

Ava Gardner and Aubrey Plaza

When Aubrey Plaza arrived at the Emmy Awards in 2011 she surprised everyone. The website PopSugar wrote, “At the Emmys, actress Aubrey Plaza looked more like Ava Gardner than April, her slacker character on Parks & Recreation.”

She really did, and in the years that have followed, she's started to look even more like her silver screen doppelgänger. Once you see their sultry stare and brown hair combination side-by-side, it's impossible to un-see!

Jane Russell and Betty Gilpin

Golden Age of Hollywood star Jane Russell and modern-day actress Betty Gilpin have very different hair, obviously. But in all other respects — the stunning eyes, the facial features, the clear ability to command the camera’s attention — they’re exactly alike.

In fact, in these photographs they almost look as though they could be mother and daughter. Just to confirm, they are not related and never were. Don't take our word for it? Russel was 61 the year Gilpin was born. We'll let you do the math...

Ginger Rogers and Evan Rachel Wood

There’s a famous quote that goes, “Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did, but backwards and in high heels.” And who could ever fill those high heels, if it were needed?

You can stop looking — we have the answer. How about actress Evan Rachel Wood? She so happens to look just like a young Ginger Rogers, right down to the curly blonde hair.

Marlon Brando and Dave Franco

According to IMDb, Marlon Brando would rarely be disputed as being the "greatest movie actor of all time." If you asked us, we'd certainly agree that he was one of the most striking in his heyday. Fast forward to the modern day, and The Streetcar Named Desire actor has competition! As soon as Dave Franco appeared on the scene, people noticed his similarity to Marlon Brando.

The website entertainment.ie wrote in 2013, “Y'all know James Franco has a hot younger brother, right? Well he does and in case you didn't hear us the first time, he's HAWWWT and to us resembles a young Marlon Brando. But hotter.” And Dave’s still compared to Marlon today.

Gregory Peck and Dermot Mulroney

Insidious and The Purge star Dermot Mulroney is surely the modern-day doppelgänger of the late-great Gregory Peck, even down to the seemingly effortless swish of their respective hairstyles! And he’s familiar with his work, too.

The Scream VI actor has even name-checked Peck in interviews about his favorite horror movies. Could Mulroney one day become the cinematic icon Peck was? It seems like he’s well on his way.

Raquel Welch and Eva Mendes

We're willing to bet that most people would agree on the fact that Raquel Welch’s life as a 1960s sex symbol would make for an amazing biopic. And if so, who better to play her than her modern-day double Eva Mendes?

Her coming out of the water in that fur bikini Welch made famous would surely make for one of the best moments in biopic history. We're sorry, there's simply no room for disagreement on this one!

Gene Tierney and Megan Fox

Was Megan Fox Gene Tierney in a previous life? When Tierney first conquered Hollywood she was absolutely lauded for her stunning looks, and apparently 20th Century Fox founder Darryl F. Zanuck called her “unquestionably the most beautiful woman in movie history.” Nowadays, plenty of people would give Fox that title, too.

Including, that is, official lists. 2008, for example, saw Fox billed as the "sexiest woman in the world" by millions of voters. Sadly, Fox has opened up about her struggles with body dysmorphia, stating that she's "never ever" loved her body, to Vanity Fair.

Stevie Nicks and Ellie Goulding

No, that is not a photo of Ellie Goulding dressed as Stevie Nicks for Halloween — it's just one of the many sets of photos that reveal just how spookily similar the two women really are. As far as similarities go, both women hold some serious musical talent.

Has Ellie commented on her iconic doppelgänger? Well, no... but she has confessed to holding Nicks on a pedestal as well as Googling — in depth — her dating history!
